MISSOULA – Larae "Rae" Ludemann, 75, passed away on Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at St. Patrick Hospital. We lost a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born June 8, 1937, in Moorehead [Moorhead], Minn., to Helen and Raymond Roesch. She attended school in Barnesville, Minn., where she went to her prom with the love of her life, George Ludemann. They were married July 19, 1956, in Mitchell Township, Minn. They spent the next 56 1/2 years loving each other. She had three children. They moved to Montana in 1960 and came to Missoula in 1962. She began working at the University of Montana in the microbiology lab and retired after working for 30 years at the university. She was diagnosed with cancer in 1977 and started her 35-year battle. She started her passion for golf in 1978 and loved golfing with George, friends and family. She also loved playing games with her family. Family was very important to her. She started following her children to any event they were involved in. That continued with following her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a fixture at Hellgate and Frenchtown sporting events next to George, yelling at the refs. She also loved attending Grizzly sporting events from football to basketball. After she retired from the university, she loved traveling with George and spending time with family from Minnesota to Washington. She is survived by her husband, son, 2 daughters, a grandson, 3 granddaughters, 2 great-granddaughters, a great-grandson, sister, and many nieces and nephews. She also has extended family in Washington. Rae was preceded in death by her parents and older sister. Complete obituary at Garden City Funeral Home
