ROBERTSDALE, ALABAMA Mattie Welch Mattie Welch, a native of Atmore and a resident of Robertsdale, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007. She was 93. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Thames Bankester of Robertsdale, Bonnie Childres Cruse of Summerville, S.C., and Sharon Welch Robinson of Tuscaloosa; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral Wednesday at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. Burial will be in Baldwin Memorial Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Robertsdale United Methodist Church building fund.
