Veronika 'Vera' Mokry, 89, formerly of Granger died Sunday, April 6, 2003 in Temple, Texas. Rosary will be recited 7 PM, Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor. Celebration of Life Mass will 10 AM, Thursday at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger with Rev. Isidore Ndagizimana officiatiing. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, west of Granger. Veronika Barbara Mokry was born in Granger, Williamson County, Texas on November 30, 1913 to M.M. (Matous) and Mary Agnes (Rosipal) Mokry. Her parents immigrated to the United States of America in the Year of Our Lord 1901 from Moravia, Czechoslovakia. Vera was a devout Catholic and dedicated her life to caring for her mother and father in their retirement years, also caring for her ailing sister, Mary. She was a staunch supporter of her dear Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger where she had been a housekeeper/cook and an all around friendly and caring individual to many. The children of SS. Cyril & Methodius School were also special to her and she helped with many church and school functions at the recreation hall. She was the last survivor of her family, preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, Matthew L., Vaclav (V.J.), Joseph R., Frank (F.J.) and Raymond M. Mokry; three sisters, Agnes Stefek, Libbie Polasek and Mary Mokry. Vera is survived by one sister-in-law, Dorotha Mokry; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be her nephews: Johnny Mokry, Raymond Mokry, Bernard Mokry, Alfonse Mokry, Edward Mokry and Dominic Polasek. Memorials may be given to SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School, P.O.
