Funeral services will be held at Geesey-Ferguson Chapel in Crowley for Nettie Mae Brown Green, 84, who died Thursday evening in Cecilia, LA, surrounded by her family. The Reverend Terrell Reed will officiate for the service. Interment will follow in Maxie Cemetery. A native of Iota and a resident of Lafayette since 1961, Mrs. Green was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was having all her family together in one place. Mrs. Green survived by her son, James Ivan "Tex" Green and his wife, Jackie, of Cecilia; three daughters, Chris Guidry of Lafayette, Cindy G. Roger and her husband, Mike, of Niceville, FL, and Michelle Pitts and her husband, Jake, of Mire, LA; a sister, Vera Brown of Iota; a brother, James A. Brown of Beaumont, TX; a niece, Diana Sue Brown of Oregon and a nephew, Leonard K. Brown of Houston,TX; fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Florence Killmer Brown; her former husband, Troy K. Green; and a great-granddaughter, Chloe Angelle. Pallbearers will be Chad and Cory Green, Bryan "Boonie" Roger, Wesley "Bubba" and Jordan Pitts, and Chase Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be Brennan Landry, Austin Roy, Ryker Angelle, Trent Hernandez, and Andrew Guidry. The family would like to thank the staff of Lafayette General Hospital and Hospice of Acadiana for their care and kindness during her illness.
