Rudolph F. Danek, Jr., 81, of Taylor died Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Johns Community Hospital in Taylor. Family visitation will be 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of Life Service will be 2 pm, Friday, January 2, 2004, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor. Burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Rudolph Frank Danek, Jr. was born on March 30, 1922 to Mary (Darilek) and Rudolph Danek, Sr. in Taylor, Texas. Rudolph graduated from Taylor High School and went on to attend Durham Business College in Austin. On October 2, 1944, he married Mamie Meyer in Taylor, Texas. He served in World War II in a field artillary unit under General Patton and then he transferred to Fort Hood. Rudolph had been the co-owner of Danek Packing Company before his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor and the Taylor Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Danek. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mamie Danek of Taylor; a son, Duane Andrew Danek and wife, Arleen of Taylor; a daughter, Debra Ann Knox and husband, Tim of Georgetown; a brother, Frank Danek of Houston; grandchildren, Brittany Knox and Kyle and Chase Danek; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Rodney Kincl, Lynn Cmerek, Dr. Paul Burow, Jason Danek, and Frank Danek, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Donny Horton and Richard Vorwerk.
