Aly’ce Margaret (Green) Scott, 92, died on Monday, October 5, 2020 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born August 9, 1928 in Stratford, Oklahoma to William Hawkins 'Hawkeye' Green and Mary Agnes (Bouska) Green. She was baptized in 1928 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa, Oklahoma, and attended school at St. Mary’s Academy-Sacred Heart in Konawa, Oklahoma. She married James Wendell 'J.W.' Scott June 22, 1961, and they were married for 45 years, before he passed away on October 18, 2006. Aly’ce was a bookkeeper for Walls Department Store in Shawnee, Oklahoma in the 1950s and early 60s, then upon marrying J.W., she became a housewife and bookkeeper for their Whiskey Hill Ranch, and owned and operated the Lemon Tree Antique Store at Sylvian, Oklahoma in northeast Seminole County. Her greatest accomplishment was making her husband J.W. happy with delicious home cooked meals and a clean home. She was self-educated after the 8th grade, and did not get the chance to go to high school due to family circumstances. She regretted not receiving a high school diploma, but you couldn’t tell she was not educated, because she was always reading and studying and was up to date on current affairs. When she was in her 60’s she decided to set for her GED and passed with flying colors. She won a baking contest for Pecan Crust Apple Pie and it is published in a favorite cooking magazine. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, sending cards to friends, gardening, crossword puzzles, cooking, entertaining friends and family, music and reading. She and J.W. loved to travel to Arkansas for weekend getaways, and always enjoyed a good country and western band at a street dance or at their own backyard when they would host yearly get-togethers at their ranch for the community. She was survived by daughter, Laura Susan Scott Kincade Miller and husband Rick; granddaughters; Khara Elizabeth Suzanne Criswell Schuetzner and husband Gabriel, Kendell Erin Kincade Miller and husband Brett, and Khanaa Scott Kincade Langrehr and husband Ryon; great-grandchildren, Lynzie Hayze Langrehr, Sadie Blake Miller and Rowelz Ryon Langrehr; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.W. Scott; her children, Sheri Sue Veitenheimer Criswell and Gary Veitenheimer; great-grandson; Blake Austin Miller; brothers, Joseph Green, David Green, Johnny Green; and sisters, Marie Green Veitenheimer, Catherine Green Kuestersteffen and Annette Green Miller. The wake service was held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, 8 October, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Shawnee, Oklahoma. The funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, 9 October, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph P. Schwarz officiating. Her urn and the urn of her husband, J.W., were then buried together in plot 277 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Konawa, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are through Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole, Oklahoma. ∼ Children: Son: Gary Veitenheimer - Date of birth: 02/10/1948 - Date of death: 01/04/2020 Daughter: Sheri Sue Veitenheimer Criswell - Date of birth: 01/25/1950 - Date of death: 04/18/2010 Daughter: Laura Susan Scott Kincade Miller - Date of birth: 06/05/1964 Notes: The above three children and marriage to spouse-2 Veitenheimer and cemetery plot allowed per auto SAC of LAURA MILLER: 49036858 on 14 Oct 2020.
