Annie Faye Urbanek Age 84, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2007. Faye was born on September 5, 1922, in a little town in Texas called Turkey. She moved to California from Texas in the 1930's, originally to the Imperial Valley before finding her way to the westside of the San Joaquin Valley to the town of Mendota in 1955, where she and Jesse, her husband of 52 years, have made their home. In her earlier years Faye had been a telephone switchboard operator but her long time career was one of a homemaker. She enjoyed her home, her family, her weekly trip to the hairdresser and going to lunch with her close group of friends over the years. Charming and with a quick wit, Faye would always let you know how she felt on something in such a polite way. Birthdays were always special to Faye and her family will honor her life this year with a graveside service on her 85th birthday. Faye was the last surviving member of a large family consisting of nine siblings. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ed Morlet. In addition to her husband Jesse of Mendota, she is survived by her children, Duane Urbanek and his wife Sheila, and Darla Trujillo and her husband Ruben, all of Fresno. She is the beloved grandmother of Bryce and Taylor Urbanek, Jesika and Adam Trujillo and Kristina Morlet. JAY CHAPEL Madera, Ca. Published in the Fresno Bee on 9/2/2007.
