I appreciate FAG Contributor, Gene Hutson (37670162) for Derald's obituary. 7-13-2024 ------------------------------------------------ The Norfolk Daily News; Norfolk, Nebraska; Thursday, December 30, 1982; Derald Dozler ELGIN -- Services for Derald L. Dozler, 48, Aurora, Colo., formerly of Elgin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Boniface Catholic Church here. The Rev. Floyd Wessling will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday at Huffman's Brooks Chapel and 7 - 9 p.m. at the church where a 7:30 p.m. rosary will be recited. The son of William C. and Marie Werner Dozler, he was born Aug. 15, 1934, at Elgin and died Tuesday at the Aurora Community Hospital after suffering a stroke a day earlier. He grew up on his parents' farm near Elgin and was graduated from St. Boniface High School in 1952. Mr. Dozler worked for Roberts Dairy in Omaha after his graduation. In 1954 he and Margaret Fritzgerald of Albion were married at Elgin. The couple farmed for one year at Elgin, returning to Omaha where he was employed by Roberts Dairy until 1973, when he transferred with the firm to Grand Island. In 1960, the Dozlers moved to Aurora where he was associated in the dairy business. Survivors include his wife, his mother, Mrs. Kermit (Marie) Hoffsten of Elgin, five daughters, Debbie Determan of Aurora, Cheryl Dozler of Lincoln, Karen Dozler of Kearney, and Theresa and Christine at home, three sons, Gary of Omaha, Michael of Grand Island and Steven at home, one sister, Mrs. Jack (Marion) Kunzman of Albion, two brothers, Jack of Houston, Texas and Clayton of Elgin, and four grandchildren. His father preceded him in death. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper. (GH)
