Bio
Funeral services for Ruby Oleta Boswell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at LaCamp Pentecostal Church with Reverends Greg Mortenson and James Herbert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. at LaCamp Pentecostal Church on Monday, February 12th and will continue until the time of service on Tuesday. Mrs. Boswell was born on January 11, 1935, in Leander, LA and passed away on February 10, 2018, in Leesville, LA at the age of 83. She was born and raised in Leander, LA and owned and operated Ruby’s Florist Shop there for about 30 years. Mrs. Boswell was a member of LaCamp Pentecostal Church where she played the piano, taught Sunday School, and was a mighty prayer warrior who faithfully studied the Word of God. Even though she later developed Alzheimer’s disease, Mrs. Boswell still knew her Bible and could look up specific passages. Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by her husbands, James Rudolph Boswell Sr., Ryley Wellman, and Reverend Gary Floyd; sons, Rodney Boswell and James Boswell Jr.; parents, John Burt Smith and Sylvia Leola Smith; three sisters; great granddaughter, Mattie Boswell; and great great grandson, Nathan Helton. Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Curtis Boswell and wife Karen of Leander, LA; Greg Boswell and wife Sherri of Vici, OK; and Tony Boswell of Midland, TX Daughter: Wanda Smith and husband Wilmer of Leander LA Brothers: Delbert Smith and wife Shirley of Sieper, LA and Elbert Smith of Alexandria, LA Twenty-three grandchildren, forth-six great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.
