The Daily Press (Newport News, Va.), Wed, 13 Aug 1986, pD3, c6 Wayne J. Reeves Newport News - Wayne James Reeves, 65, of 7714 Vernon Place, died Monday in his home. He was born in Leicester, N.C. and had lived on the Peninsula the last 38 years. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1983 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1711, Newport News, and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include six sons, William S. Reeves of Arden, N.C., James W. Reeves of Columbia, S.C., Doyle B. Reeves of Leicester, Robert Reeves of Missouri, John H. Bridges of Hampton and Vernon Lee Bridges of Gloucester; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Robbins of Hayes and Mrs. Ada Marie Phelps of York County; a sister, Mrs. Mary Lou Parham of Leicester, 27 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home and at other times at the home of John bridges, Hampton.
