The Rockdale Reporter April 23, 2009 Weise TAYLOR — Funeral services for Emzy Weise, 88, of Thorndale were held Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor with Rev. Mel Swoyer officiating. Burial followed at Taylor City Cemetery. Mr. Weise died Friday, April 17, in a Temple hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Thorndale to John A. and Annie (Riechel) Weise. He married Lillian Annie Remmert on Dec. 15, 1945. A lifelong Thorndale resident, Mr. Weise worked 40 years at Alcoa doing many jobs. He was working in metal services when he retired in 1985. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Thorndale. Mr. Weise was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force. He enjoyed his family and playing Bingo. Mr. Weise was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian; a son, Garry Wayne Weise; five brothers and a sister. Survivors are a daughter, Patricia Stifflemire of Thorndale; a daughter-in-law, Faye Weise; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Weise; also, 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Pallbearers were Earl Weise, Harvey Weise, Louis Weise, Edward Weise, Larry Gerlock and Eric Gerlock. Honorary pallbearer was Greg Newmeyer.
