Bio
Durwood Elige Anthony, 72, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. Burial will be at Elm Branch Cemetery. He was born February 1, 1948, in Byrd, Texas, to the late Nolan Durward and Frances Elizabeth (Jarolimek) Anthony. Durwood grew up on a farm until the age of 10 when his family moved to Ennis. While in high school, he attended state competitions in math and science and played football. After graduating from Ennis High School, he studied at Texas A&M, Navarro College, and University of Computer Academy, Dallas, majoring in computer science, which became his chosen career. On May 25, 1968, Durwood married Patricia Mraz, and they made their home in Bedford, TX, where they lived for 14 years. They then moved to Lee's Summit, Missouri, living there for 18 years. In 2006, they moved back to Ennis, where they spent their retirement years. During his retirement years, he became a master gardener. Durwood was the quiet type who loved to just sit back and observe people. He loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Texas Rangers. He enjoyed gardening, computer games, traveling the country with his family in his RV, and watching educational programs on the TV. He was a man of integrity and taught his children to always do the right thing. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia; sons, Bryan Anthony and his wife, Tegan, and Patrick Anthony and his wife, Nicole; grandchildren: Bailey, Brooke, Delphina, and Aurelia; sister, Nola Ann Factor and her husband, Eddie; many extended family and friends.
