Dottie M. Bielaszka, 93, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 18,1927, in Montgomery, PA to the late Frances Elizabeth Bower Johnson and Abel Blain Johnson. She was married to the late Anthony K. Bielaska (sic) for nearly 50 years. Dottie retired from IBM after a long career. She most recently resided at The Bridges at Bent Creek. A member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg, Dottie prayed the rosary daily, enjoyed reading, antiques, animals and bingo. She regularly beat younger family members at pinochle until just a few months ago. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Tomes) Vogelsong and Mary (Tomes) Gray, both of Mechanicsburg; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dottie was preceded in death by her son, Steven Tomes, and brothers John, Wilbur, William, and Fred Johnson. A Memorial Mass will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2020 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with Rev. Timothy Sahd as celebrant.
