Wlliam Harold Thames Sr. William Harold Thames Sr., 76, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007. He was a resident of Robertsdale. Thames was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5658 in Elberta and as well as a member of American Legion Post No. 99 in Foley. Survivors include his wife, Velma Waters Thames of Robertsdale; two sons, Tami Thames of Spanish Fort and William Thames II of Robertsdale; two daughters, Ruth Ann Hughen and Linda McElhaney, both of Robertsdale; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rosinton United Methodist Church with VFW Chaplain Eddie Waters officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the New Cooper Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are by Cason Funeral Service of Foley.
