BRUCE'S OBITUARY Bruce Jordan Winslow, 67, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Bruce was born in Dallas, Texas on February 5, 1953 to Grover Cleveland Winslow, Jr. and Mildred Aretha Jordan. He was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and attended of Hemphill ISD. He graduated from Texas Military Institute in San Antonio and later earned his associate's degree and worked in the medical field as an X-Ray Technician. He was a member of Oakhill Baptist Church. Bruce is survived by his wife, Stacey Winslow of Hemphill; step-mother, Shirley Winslow of Hemphill; son, Jonathan Winslow of Nacogdoches; daughters, Katherine Walker and husband, Neil, of Katy, Texas, Emberlee Winslow of Hemphill, and Kenedee Hargrove of Hemphill; sister, Angie Bishop and husband, Victor, of Clarksville, Texas; step-brother, Sonny Payne of Nederland; step-sister, Paula Pruitt of Katy; and two grandchildren, Tristan Walker and Riggs Walker. He was preceded in death by his father, Grover Winslow; his mother, Mildred Birdwell; sisters, Marsha Bean and Kimberly Winslow; and an infant brother. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2020 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rod Jackson officiating. Burial will follow services in Hemphill Cemetery with Larry Rice, Roy David Russell, Justin Russell, Amos Moore, Dale Brooks, and Bret Sauer serving as pallbearers.
