Josephine "Josie" Kropp, 98, formerly of Thrall, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at 10:30 AM, at Will-O-Bell Nursing Home in Bartlett, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2008, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Hejl officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Josephine Hubenak Kropp was born on April 9, 1910, to Joseph and Frances (Sontag) Hubenak in Briggs, Texas. She was the youngest of ten girls. Josephine married Jim Kropp on October 13, 1923, in Georgetown, Texas, when she was 13 years old. This marriage was blessed with two daughters. Her life was full and she worked hard, helping her husband farm, ranch, and raise children, living through almost a century of good times and bad. She nursed her husband through cancer until his death. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and nothing was more important to her than making sure her family was well and happy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Kropp; nine sisters; and two sons-in-law, Jack Rowe and Allen Joe Novak. Josephine is survived by her loving daughters, Betty Jo Rowe of Taylor, and Peggy Sue Novak of Danbury; five grandchildren, Dr. Steve Rowe and wife, Gayla, of McGregor, Jackie Smith and husband, Calvin, of Largo Vista, Wade Novak and wife, Ginger, of Danbury, Jim Novak and wife, Stefanie, of Danbury, and Dana Escobar and husband, Rolando, of DelValle; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kali, Katie and Brady Rowe, Steven and Keith Strmiska, Colton and Tyler Novak, Jamie and Allen Joe Novak, Christopher and Cayden Escobar, and Michaelyne Early and husband, Adam Early; special niece and nephew, Evelyn and Earl Wuensche; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Wade Novak, Jim Novak, Rolando Escobar, Steve Rowe, Calvin Smith, and Steven Strmiska. Memorials may be made to Taylor Brethren Church, P.O.
