Rolland D. Zakovec age 84 of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Methodist Fremont Health. Rolland was born August 30, 1935 in Morse Bluff, Nebraska to Frank R. and Mary (Sedlacek) Zakovec. He grew up in the Cedar Bluffs, NE area and graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School. Rolland served in the US Army from October 12, 1955 to October 11, 1957. He returned to Cedar Bluffs where and farmed west of Cedar Bluffs. He also worked for the Nebraska Game and Parks at the Fremont State Lakes for 20 years. He married Nancy (Mikan) on April 11, 1959 in Fremont. Nancy preceded him in death on June 21, 2019. Rolland is survived by his sons, Doug (Carol) Zakovec and Dan Zakovec all of Cedar Bluffs; daughters, Karen King and Marsha (Kelly) Gallatin all of Fremont; 9 grandchildren, Staci (Rick) Jensen, Jake Zakovec, Kayla Zakovec, Aren Rowland, Diane (Jason) Dannar, Nick Dobrusky, David Zakovec, Zach Zakovec and Logan Gallatin; 7 great grandchildren, Rhys Zakovec, Mae and Katelynn Jensen, Jordan, Kellan, Austin Dannar and Gavin Dobrusky; and 1 great-great grandson, Dominic Zakovec . He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nancy; daughter, Diane Zakovec; brother, Richard Zakovec and daughter-in-law, Julie Zakovec. Funeral will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Earl Underwood officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-7 PM also at Moser's in Fremont. Military honors will follow the service on Saturday at the funeral home, conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of VFW Post #854 and American Legion Post #20. Interment will be at Johannes Cemetery near Cedar Bluffs at a later date.
