Elgin Ray Pittman, 71, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Corinth. He was born July 24, 1941, in Bowie to Jim and Donnie Case Pittman. Elgin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Pittman. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ruth Pittman; daughters Sharon Cooke of Bridgeport, Beverly Trice of Baton Rouge, La., and Terrie Cooke of Bridgeport; sons Elgin Ray Pittman Jr. of Trophy Club and James Pittman of Decatur; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters Carol Shaft of Canton, Donna Nix of Fort Worth and Rebecca Ducher of Gainesville. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at The New Covenant Family Church with Pastor Kevin Mayfield and Bro. Billie Fitch officiating.
