I've been researching this Harrison County, Texas Oney's for years. If you are related, I'd really like to hear from you. Photos on the right show 2 of 9 pgs of a Harrison County, Texas land record. B. C. Ragan is named on one of the pages. Son of Nancy and Hiram Oney, he was married to Sarah Ann Matilda Alexander. Resided in Tippah Co., Mississippi before arriving in Texas. Information about Wm. C. Oney was obtained from letters written and placed in his Civil War packet that can be seen on microfilm. He served in the Confedracy and died before the wars end of disease. Sarah Ann M., his wife received some money or back pay, but no children or other information was available about his family or personal life. Sarah Ann Matilda Oney married James Loden 17 Jul 1870 Harrison County, Tx after death of Wm C. Oney. James Loden was a widower and father of children also. Another marriage to a Mark Darnell later.
