Bio

Berry Wesley Sullivan, a retired Texas educator and loving husband, died on Saturday, 6 December 2014, in Round Rock, TX, after a long illness. He was wrapped in the loving arms of his wife Dorothy Kay. Berry was a man of charm and grace, and we will miss him tremendously. He was 81. Berry was born on July 11, 1933, in Woodson, TX to Elizabeth and George Sullivan. Berry graduated from Woodson High School when he was 16 years old. He initially attended Ranger Junior College for one year where he was a cheerleader. After 2 years in the US Army, Berry attended University of North Texas in Denton, where he received his Master's degree. Berry was passionate about the education of young people and devoted his professional life to promoting their success in the business world. Many have benefited from his knowledge and support. After retiring as the Director of Marketing Education at the Texas Education Agency, Berry was on the faculty at Texas State University where he certified future educators to become effective marketing teachers. In addition to working, family life became another passion of Berry's. Berry had 2 children-Larry and Cindy-from his first marriage to Carol Ann Jones. In 1981, Berry married Dorothy Kay Haynes and welcomed 2 step-sons, Brian and Clint Gray into his life. Spending time with his grandchildren, attending Round Rock Express games, and adventures traveling around the U.S. were all special occasions for him. Berry's spirituality was also an important part of his life. He and Dorothy Kay were charter members of the Round Rock Christian Church and later joined the First United Methodist Church of Round Rock. Berry is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kay; his daughter Cindy Lenz and her husband Russel; his son Larry Sullivan; his stepson Brian Grey and his wife Christen; his stepson Clint Gray and his wife Julie; his grandchildren Aaron and Rachel Lenz, and Hobbs and Cooper Gray.
