Bio

Ruby Elizabeth Anderson, 89, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in Omaha, Nebraska. Memorial services will be held Monday, April 13, at 10:30am at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Carroll officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com . Ruby was born May 30, 1925, in Genoa, Nebraska, the daughter of David and Martha (Broberg) Anderson. She moved with her family to Veteran, Wyoming and attended school there. The family later moved to Guernsey, Wyoming where Ruby graduated from high school in 1944. She attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 1960. She taught school for 43 years in Sunrise, Hawk Springs, Huntley and Lingle. On May 21, 1955, Ruby married Robert Anderson of Ten Sleep. The couple had two daughters. She was a member of the GCEA, WEA, NEW, and Delta Kappa Gamma. Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth (Donald) Osborn of Omaha, Nebraska and Katherine (Lynn) Bedient of Torrington, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Robert Osborn of Omaha, Nebraska, Kate Osborn of Tampa, Florida and James R. Bedient of Torrington, Wyoming; great granddaughter Reegan of Tampa, Florida; brother John (Francis) Anderson of Lingle, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; four sisters, Eleanor Howard, Evelyn Schamel, Margret Thieman and Ruth Anderson; brother Andrew Anderson; niece Susan Anderson; and nephew Roger Schamel.
