''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' The Brainard Clipper , October 17, 1935, p. 1, col. 4 Folks of this community were greatly shocked Tuesday morning, when it became known that Rudolph C. Stanek had [died]…. Short funeral services were held at the Stanek home this (Thursday) morning by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Klein. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery in the family lot beside the graves of his two children which had previously preceded their father in death. Prayer was offered at the grave, led by Leo Hanus Sr. Pall-bearers were Joseph Jakub, Joseph Stava, Joseph Sabata, Chas. Novak, Joseph Havlena and John Sloup. Rudolph C. Stanek was born April 9, 1885, at Zbysov, Moravia. At the age of 18 he came to America and to Omaha where he made his home with an aunt, Mrs. Floral, and where he found employment in the packing plants and meat markets, later becoming city salesman for the Cudahy packing company. On October 11, 1910, he was united in marriage to Fannie Jakub and came to Brainard where he became proprietor of the meat market which he has run since that time. He leaves to mourn his wife, two sons, Ernest and Frank and a daughter, Agnes; also his aged mother and two sisters living in Europe. A son and a daughter died in infancy. Mrs. Stanek, assisted by her son, Ernest, and Joe Sabata, will continue the meat market, at least temporarily. __ CARD OF THANKS We extended our most sincere thanks to all our friends, neighbors and relatives for their kindness and help in our time of sorrow.
