GEORGE W. VAN NORWICH George Wesley Van Nortwick, 93, 115 S. Olive Ave., Rialto, died Monday in a Rialto hospital. A native of Hebron, Neb., he lived in the San Bernardino area 30 years. Mr. Van Nortwick was a member of the First Christian Church of Rialto where he was treasurer for 12 years and a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Survivors include the widow, Nellie; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Ritz of Fontana; two sons, Harold of Fontana and George W. Jr. of San Bernardino; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Sterner of Cozad, Neb., and Mrs. Mable Schults of Fresno; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church, 1649 N. Willow Ave., Rialto, with the Rev. Willard M. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Rialto Park Cemetery with Ralph Wm. Allen Funeral Home, Rialto, directing. The family has suggested that friends who desire may make memorial contributions to the First Christian Church building fund. He married Anna Hellen Illner and they had four children together. He then married Nellie Maude Daggett in 1930. He died on January 24, 1966, in Fontana, California, at the age of 93, and was buried in Rialto, California.
