Ray James Ray James, 71, of Little Cypress, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at his home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Cravens, La., under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Interment will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cravens. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and from noon until service time Sunday at the church. He was born in Pitkin, La., and lived in the Little Cypress area for 45 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his wife, Doris James, of Little Cypress; sons, Jimmy James "and Johnny James, both of Little Cypress, and Stan Gilliam, of Orange; daughters, Barbara White, of Cravens, Patricia Lacouture, of Baton Rouge, La., and Cherry Maricle, of Cravens; sister, Norma Calcote, of Rosepine, La.; and 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
