Son of samual and Mary Gilbert Hunter ∼ Son of Samuel Hunter 1762–1831 and Mary Sarah Campbell Hunter 1767–1831. He drew a military pension for War of 1812 service (13 Nov 1814 - 10 May 1815). [Conflict in death: Record show him dying Nov 26, 1842 in Greene County, Tennessee, but lists his age as 65.]
