Richard Lee Askins died on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1981. Retired U.S.A.F., Veteran WWII and Korean War. Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Cleo Herring Askins; sons, James Ray Askins, Richard Glenn Askins; five grandchildren; brother, Virgil Askins; sisters, Mrs. Thelma Cribbs, Fort Worth, Mrs. Oretta Sibley, Fort Worth, Mrs. Margaret Smyth, Buras, Louisiana, Mrs. Alta Lee Iverson, Burleson. Friends may call at Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 702 Eighth Avenue where a Biblical Wake Service will be conducted 7 pp.m. Thursday and an opportunity for viewing will be given, as the casket will be closed at the Mass. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Rev. Publilus Xuereb, Celebrant. Pallbearers: Alan Askins, Lee Askins, Charles Wooley, Bill Sibley, F.C. Cribb, John Michel. Interment Laurel Land.
