Bio

Emil Spicak, 89, of Austin, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007. He was born on January 26, 1918 in Cistern, Texas to Charles Spicak and Emily Kremel. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and upon discharge was an Aviation Machinist Mate (propellers) First Class. Emil retired from Suntide Oil Refinery in Corpus Christi to become a full-time rancher in Yorktown, Texas. He was a member of Suntide Retirees Club, American Legion Post #64, and KJT. He was preceded in death by his wife (Ann Kosarek), parents; four sisters: Vlasta Prochaska, Elenora Valenta, Mary and Elsie Prochaska; three brothers: Charles, Joe, and Vladimir. He is survived by one sister, Lillian, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services held at Seaside Chapel on Aug. 31. A funeral mass was celebrated at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
