Bio

Daughter of Charles L. and Maggie Kosarek. Married to Emil Spicak on June 24, 1942. - - - - - - - Ann May Kosarek Spicak was born on February 27, 1923 to Charles and Maggie Kosarek. She was raised in the Kostoryz community. She attended Kostoryz Elementary School where she enjoyed playing baseball. She attended Buccaneer High School. She lived on the farmstead that her mother and brother, Joe Kosarek operated until she was married to Emil Spicak of Agua Dulce, Texas on June 24, 1942. Ann was baptized in Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church on Agnes Street in Corpus Christi. She was a member of the KJZT women's organization. For many years she provided comfort to her parish priest with home-cooked meals. She lived most of her life in Corpus Christi except for 13 years that she lived in Yorktown, Texas where she and her husband owned and operated a cattle ranch and farm. They moved back to Corpus in 1983 and lived there until 1998 when they moved to Austin, Texas. She passed for this life on July 21, 2003 after a lengthy fight with Parkinson's disease. She is survived by her husband Emil Spicak of Austin, Texas; one sister, Lottie Mokry of Corpus Christi; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and her special friend, Susie. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi on Saturday, July 26, 2003. Burial services will also be at Seaside Memorial Park.
