Born to Frank and Agnes (Ptacek) Slaby on April 13, 1919, in Lincolnville, Kan. Former National Watch Co., Western Electric employee. Life member of DAV. Member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, American Legion. Volunteered for the VA Hospital, Lincoln. Survivors: daughter, son-in-law, Joan and Melvin Ballard; daughter-in-law, Sigrid Bergman; brother, sister-in-law, Joe and Ruth Slaby; sisters, brother-in-law, Betty Hirtzel, Marie and Jack O'Brien, Lucille Nealy; sister-in-law, Vera Slaby; grandchildren, spouses, Laurie Ballard, Kim and Scott Jerabek, Tom and Connie Ballard, Julie and Ryan Hammers, Lucinda and Sanford Pollack; great-grandchildren, Melinda, Shannon, Danielle, Brittany, Chelsea, Shena, Rebecca, Adam, Matt, Rob, Michael, Alex, Josie, Jordan; great-great-grandchild, Andrew; nieces and nephews.
