Bio

Florence L. Shay was born Dec. 20, 1915, in Delavan to Roy Alonzo and L. Belle Curtis Shay. She married Otis F. Hoffman on Dec. 2, 1938, in Delavan. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, H. Wayne and Wendal K. and Walter M.; one daughter, Rosemary Petrone; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. She graduated from Proctor Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria in 1937. She was a registered nurse and did private duty nursing. She Later was night supervison at the former Tazewell County Nursing Home in rural Tremont. She was a member of Delavan Baptist Church, where she was a trustee and Sundy school teacher for many years. She was a member of Delavan order of Eastern Star.
