Bio

Aubrey Barnett Stone, 67, of Marlin, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with James Haney officiating. Aubrey was born in the Little Elm Community in Limestone County, Texas, to the late William and Mina Mae Ray Stone. His family moved to Falls County in 1942. He attended elementary school at Criswell and McClanahan. Aubrey graduated from Marlin High School in 1959 and then attended Sam Houston State University. He married Janet J. Price on May 18, 1961, in Madisonville, Texas. Aubrey worked for close to 30 years as a lab technician for U. S. Silica in Kosse, Texas. He spent his lifetime in Falls County farming and ranching. In addition to farming and ranching, he enjoyed gardening, barbequing, and playing dominoes. For several years he and his wife owned and raced horses. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 22, 2003; and a brother, Conrad Stone. Survivors include his daughters, Donna Scott and husband, Jes, of Marlin, and Kim Sustaita and husband, Billy, of Dalhart, Texas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Winfred Stone, of Waco, and Keith Stone and Terry Stone, both of Georgetown; sisters, Jo Ann Milnes-Cohn and Nelda Brown, both of Marlin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
