Bio

Son of Louis and Cecile ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Louis J. Reisch, jr. , 16-year-old son of Mrs. Cecile Reisch, Springfield, was injured fatally shortly after noon yesterday when the youth's gun accidentally discharged while he was engaged in target practice in the Leland park district south of Springfield. The youth died at St. John's hospital where he was taken in the police ambulance. In reconstructing the accident, the police expressed belief that Reisch, a junior at Springfield high school, was walking through the wooded section south of the Outer Park drive when a twig from a fallen tree branch caught in the trigger guard, causing the gun to discharge. He apparently had fallen as the gun discharged. Reisch, member of a family prominent in Springfield history for a century, was the son of the late Louis J. Reisch, sr., and Mrs. Cecile Reisch. His father died in 1933. His grandfather was George Reisch, sr., who died in 1936 and who was the son of Frank Reisch, founder of the Reisch brewery. Surviving are his mother; one sister, Cecile; his grandmothers, Mrs. George Reisch, sr., city and Mrs. Alexander Goulet, Columbus, O. Funeral services held at the residence and at Blessed Sacrament church and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 4-21-1939
