Roy Walker Fitts September 27, 1921- September 1, 2003 McMinnville resident and Warren County native Roy Walker Fitts, Sr., 81, died Sept. 1 at River Park Hospital. A retired Chrysler employee and a member of McMinnville Primitive Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Sam and Ethel Hendrickson Fitts; and was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth, Hoyt, Jasper, George, Leslie Fitts, and Justin Johnson; sister , Aline Moore. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fitts; daughters, Sharon Tuharsky of Michigan, and Debra Young of McMinnville; sons, Roy Fitts, Jr. of Michigan, Kenneth James Fitts and Alan Fitts, both of McMinnville; brother, Jesse Fitts of McMinnville; sisters, Mary Griffith, Alta Mae Dickens, both of McMinnville, and Laverne Dobbs of Georgia; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday at Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Hennessee officiating. Burial followed at Gardens of Memory.
