Mary Ruth Fitts Griffith, 78 McMinnville resident and Warren County native Mary Ruth Fitts Giffith, 78, was born May 17, 1928 and died Oct. 4 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following a short illness. A homemaker and a member of McMinnville Primitive Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Walker and Ethel Rosetta (Hendrixon) Fitts. She was married April 7, 1951 to William M. "Bill" Griffith, who preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by one sister, Lou Verne Dobbs of Marietta, Ga.; brother, Jesse N. Fitts of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews; three sisters in law, friends, neighbors and very special friends, Etta Roberts and Imogene Weems. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at High's Chapel with Jerry Hennessee officiating. Burial will follow at Centertown Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at High's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
