Bio
Emma Hursey Smith, a resident of Fields, Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, June 23rd at her residence in Fields, Louisiana at the age of 77. Emma loved her family dearly. She loved to travel in her younger years and spent her later years in her rocking chair on the porch watching the flowers grow and all the birds feeding in her yard while drinking her coffee. She attended Harvest Family Church, Fields, Louisiana. She is survived by two sons, Eddie Smith and wife, Vicky of Fields, James Smith of Fields, daughter, Sarah DeRamus of Westlake, grandchildren, Eddie Smith and wife, Cantrell, Kimberly Bolton and husband, Casey of Fields, and Emily McDaniel and husband Jeremy of Creole, Micca Robin of Westlake, Jordan Smith of DeQuincy, 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Laverne Says of Starks and Linda Ragle and husband Herbert of Longville and her dog, Freckles. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred (Bud) Smith, grandson, Justin Smith, mother, Rachel Hursey, father, William Hursey and two brothers, Willis Ray Hursey, Curtis Sandifer, her son-in-law, Pat DeRamus and her dog, Tater Bud. The family will receive friends 5 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25th at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy, La. The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 26th at Harvest Family Church, 13671 Hwy 389, Fields, La. Interment to follow at Hyatt Cemetery, Fields, La.
