*NOTE: I found an obituary and 1900 Census that shows Elizabeth being born about 1798. Other Census records with her children show she was born about 1825 ---------------------------------------- DIED AT THE AGE OF 112 Oldest White Woman in Missouri Passed Away at 8pm Monday. - Lived Near Smithton Thirty Years. - Was Born in Kentucky and Resided in Indiana Before Coming to Missouri - The Burial Took Place This Afternoon. Mrs. Elizabeth Fox, reputed to be the oldest white woman in Missouri died at the home of her son, Thomas Fox, a farmer, one mile northeast of Smithton, at 8 o'clock last night, aged 112 years. Mrs. Fox for four years past had been an invalid and during the greater part of that time had been bedfast. She was born in Kentucky and later moved to Indiana. About thirty years ago she came to Missouri, settling in Pettis county, where she has resided since that time. For the past year she lived on the John Lujin farm near Smithton with her son. No one knew Mrs. Fox's exact age, although it is known she would be 112 years old had she lived until next month. She was the mother of seven children, three of whom are living. One of the children is Thomas Fox, of near Smithton, another is Mrs. Sarah Allen, residing at Smithton, and another is a daughter, whose address is not known. Mrs. Fox did not belong to any church. Funeral services were conducted at the family residence at Smithton at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
