Obituary from The Deseret News (Salt Lake City, UT) - Wednesday, May 24, 2000: Donna Madsen Gillman, 86, died May 22, 2000. She was born September 23, 1913 in Vineyard, Utah, a daughter of JJ Madsen, Jr. and Druzella Aston Madsen. She married John Gillman on November 2, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. John died September 3, 1977. Donna faithfully supported her husband and children in all their pursuits. She enjoyed and was a successful gardener. As a young woman she developed her musical talent. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ for congregations and singing groups throughout her life. She traveled extensively throughout the world. She enjoyed visiting with each of her children and grandchildren, always giving motherly advice with a gentle touch. She is survived by three daughters and one son, Karen (John D.) Haebig, Karmen (G. William) Streng, Audrey (Vern) Bailey, and J. Wayne (Kathy) Gillman. She is also survived by six grandsons and one granddaughter; two sisters; Susie (Richard) Wells and Carol (Farren J.) Hardy. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 12 noon in the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State St. in Orem. A viewing will begin 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will take place in the Orem City Cemetery.
