Bio

Deanna Kohmetscher, age 76, of McCook, Nebraska passed away at the Community Hospital of McCook, NE on June 20, 2020. She was born in McCook on August 20, 1943 to Andrew and Mary Elizabeth (Schutte) Kometscher. Deanna was a lifelong resident of McCook. Deanna worked at the Southwest Nebraska Area Training Center and at Pizza Hut. She enjoyed BINGO, playing cards, especially “Scat” and Rummy. Deanna collected porcelain dolls. She was always accompanied by dolls when she lived at Hillcrest Nursing Home. Deanna was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook and participated in the Special Olympics winning many ribbons and trophies. Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Kohmetscher; sisters: Irma Kohmetscher, Rita Titman, Robert Cappel, Betty Hull, Imelda Hays and Mary Ann Stritt; three brothers: Kenneth, Hugh, and James Kohmetscher. Deanna is survived by a sister, Eunice Norman of McCook; special friend: David May of McCook along with a host of nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited at the Herrmann - Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 7:00 PM with Father Gary Brethour leading. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church of McCook on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 10:30 AM with Father Gary Brethour celebrating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery . Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
