Agnes Helen Hyzak, 79, of San Antonio died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at McCullough Hall Nursing Center in San Antonio. Rosary will be recited at 6 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2006 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of Resurrection Mass will be 10 AM, Monday at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger. Agnes Hyzak was born on February 28, 1927 to John and Marie (Hroudny) Hyzak in Granger, Texas. She attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School and graduated from Granger High School. After earning a B.S. degree from Our Lady of the Lake College in 1949, Agnes taught in Yorktown, Pleasanton, and Edgewood Independent School District. After four years of teaching in Texas, Agnes branched out overseas where she taught school in France, Germany, Bermuda and Japan. After her return to the states, she was employed at Fort Sam Houston Elementary School for 26 years. She was an active member of Fort Sam Houston Teachers Association, Texas State Teachers Association, Kappa, Kappa Iota, K.J.Z.T., Bexar County Czech Heritage Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Joe, Albert, Johnnie,Jr., Wesley and Louis; and two sisters, Mary Hyzak Rozypal and Adella Hyzak Kacer. Survivors are two sisters, Sister Casilda Hyzak, of the Congregation of Sisters of Divine Providence of San Antonio and Theresa Hyzak Mazoch of Corpus Christi; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Jerry Kacer, Gene Vaculin, Kenneth Mazoch, James Mazoch, Bernard Hyzak, and Johnny Rozypal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sisters of Divine Providence, 515 S.
