James Joe Massar of Taylor, TX passed away at Baylor Scott and White Continuing Care Hospital on June 16, 2020 at the age of 83. James was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Vlasta Massar, his loving wife Margie Massar, brother-in-laws, Melton and Howard Drummond, and nephew Curtis Dean Drummond. He is survived by his son, Michael (Lavonne) Massar; daughter Donna (Scott) Safarik; grandson, Kevin (Melissa) Massar; grand-daughter, Kristen (Fiancé Joshua Vasquez) Massar; grandson, Brandon Safarik and great grandson, Jase Massar. Also, sister-in-law Carolyn Drummond and numerous nieces and nephews. James was born in Granger, TX on March 24, 1937. He graduated from Taylor High School and later served in the U.S. Army. James loved to hunt, fish, and build and fly RC Planes. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and helping others. James and Margie were co-owners of J & M Auto and Machine Shop from 1977 to 2011. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
