Bio
Funeral services for Ellen Box, 88 of Sulphur, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2005 from the Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 2051 E. Napoleon Street, Sulphur, Louisiana. Craig Peters and Brian Spicer will officiate. Burial will be in the Alameda Cemetery in Ranger, Texas under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Mrs. Box died Friday, April 1, 2005 at her daughters residence in Vinton, Louisiana after a lengthy illness. Visitation hours will be at the funeral home on Saturday, April 2, 2005 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Sunday, April 3, 2005 from 8:00 A.M. until service time. Mrs. Box was born on May 23, 1916 in Gorman, Texas to Joe and Mary Jane (Penny) Tucker. She had lived in Sulphur since 1956 and was a member of the Maplewood Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, May Soileau and husband Henry of Vinton, Louisiana; one son, William "Bill" Box and wife Shirley of Sulphur, Louisiana; one sister, Eva Choates of San Antonio, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Rebecca McMillen, Jeff Soileau, Timothy Soileau and Marci Hall and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Morgan JC Box whom died on October 20, 1994. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.mem.com.
