Bio

Mrs. JESSIE JUNE (SMITH RATTO) TIERCE was the daughter of Joneous Simpson Smith Sr. and Mrs. Leenora A. (Lay) Smith. She was the wife of Haddon Charles Ratto Sr. whom she wed on September 5, 1920 in Brown County, Texas. To their union, four children were born including Hadden Charles Ratto Jr., Joe Keith Ratto, Amalene Bonita Ratto and Jim Bob Ratto. Obituary "Services for Jessie June Tierce, 79, of 709 North Belmont, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home chapel with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Tierce died Tuesday at Medical Center Hospital. She was born December 8, 1899, in Athens, Alabama, and she moved to Odessa, Texas in 1949 from Grand Prairie, Texas. She married Leo Tierce on November 1, 1965 in Odessa. Mrs. Tierce was a member of Vine Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Haddon Ratto, of Mission, and Joe Keith Ratto and Jim Bob Ratto, both of Tyler; one daughter, Mrs. Amalene Gardner, of Trinity; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren." Further, their daughter, Mrs. Amalene "Amy" Gardner, passed away before 2009 (as noted in the obituary for Amy's son, Edwin Lewis Gardner Jr. which was published in 2009).
