Simeon Scott, Bio Simeon Scott was born September 9, 1828 in Saline Co. Missouri, son of John Long Scott born May 1, 1801 Cumberland Co. Kentucky and Margaret Beaty born 1801 Kentucky daughter of William Beaty of Saline Co. Missouri and Sarah Crockett. Simeon was the grandson of Samuel Scott born June 19, 1775 Burke Co. North Carolina and Lydia Long b 1777 in North Carolina, daughter of Edward Long and Mary Julian. Simeon great grandfather Thomas Scott born July 19, 1755 in Prince George Co., Maryland and Lettia Russell. Thomas was a private in the Revolutionary War. Simeon Scott married Miss. Frances Ann Kester August 24, 1858 in Saline Co. Missouri daughter of Samuel Kester and Sarah Simpson. Her mother Sarah was the great niece of Daniel Boone. They came to Texas soon after they married and located six miles of Iredell, Texas. To this union where ten children;Elizabeth born February 4, 1860, Walter Perry, born June 15, 1861 died April 11, 1864, Tillard Leroy born October 3, 1862, Charles J. born December 15, 1864, Nancy Cordella born September 17, 1866, John L. born October 20, 1869, Joseph Anna born May 25, 1872 died May 5, 1877, Isaac Leonard born August 15, 1874, William Tempe Alice born October 20, 1876 and Sidney Ray born January 4, 1879. Simeon Scott served in the Civil War under Baylor's Reg't Texas Cavalry. Simeon and Frances are buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Iredell, Texas.
