Jeanette "Jeanie" Liska, 69, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Jeanie was born on January 29, 1951, to the late Edward John and Mary Angeline (Galetka) Slovacek. She grew up in Ennis and attended St. John School graduating in 1969. On September 11, 1971, she married her dancing partner, Anton "Tony" Frank Liska, and they made their home in Ennis. She worked for several years at Travelers Insurance in Dallas. She then worked at Ennis State Bank in new accounts for over 35 years retiring in 2018. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis, KJZT, and Catholic Daughters. She volunteered for Meals On Wheels. Her favorite pastimes were traveling which included her trip to the Czech Republic and cruising on the high seas with Tony and friends. She also loved listening to an Elvis tune. Sewing was one of Jeanie’s favorite things to do. She had an undying love for family and especially cherished time with her grandchildren. Her house was always open for a sleepover. She was preceded in death by her husband Tony; sister, Rose Ann Vrana; and a brother, Raymond Slovacek. Survivors include her sons: Darren Scott Liska and his wife, Gwen, Kyle Jason Liska and his wife, Kelley, and Anthony Ryan Liska; grandchildren: Erin, Randa, Joshua, Jacob, Phelicity, Samantha, Lillie, Cade, and Koltyn; great-granddaughter, Logan Kate; brother, Ken Slovacek; sisters-in-law, Cecilie Holland and her husband, Jerry, and Dorothy Liska; many other family members and friends.
