Bio

Rose Ann Slovacek Vrana, 74, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Methodist Medical Center of Mansfield. Rose was born in Creechville, Texas, on March 1, 1937 to Edward and Mary (Galetka) Slovacek. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School in 1955. On June 9, 1956 she married George Wesley Vrana and they made their home in Ennis. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a member of KJZT #16. Other than her family, her passions were cooking, and baking various recipes she had collected over many years. She was an artist in the kitchen She is survived by sons: Gary Vrana and his wife, Barbara, Ron Vrana, David Vrana and Chris Vrana; daughter: Karen and her husband, Jeff Sorrels; five grandchildren: Aaron, Mason, Trevor, Tatum and Tori; mother: Mary Slovacek; brothers: Ken Slovacek and Raymond Slovacek along with one sister: Jeanette Liska. She was preceded in death by her father and her husband, George Vrana on June 4, 1989. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
