The following obituary was published in The Lubbock (TX) Avalanche-Journal newspaper, Sunday Morning, December 17, 1972, Page 2A. Jean Bailey LEVELLAND (Special) - Mrs. Jean Bailey, 50, of Levelland died about 11:45 a.m., Saturday in Cook memorial Hospital here after a lengthy illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Fifth Street Baptist Church in Levelland with the Rev. W. C. Ray, pastor, officiating, and the Rev. Douglas Thomas, pastor of College Avenue Baptist Church and the Rev. Curtis Carroll, of Jacksonville, assisting. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. A native of Lamesa, Mrs. Bailey moved to Levelland with her family in 1924. She was a member of the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Levelland and co-owner of a dress shop here. She was a graduate of Levelland High School. Survivors include a son, Dickie Bailey of Levelland; a daughter, Mrs. Kent McInroe of Levelland; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heck McMillan of Levelland; three brothers, Hector McMillan and Jerry McMillan of Levelland and Bob McMillan of Brownwood; a sister, Mrs. Mary Stallings of Denton; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be H. D. Atchison, James Wright, Baldy Palmer, Euel Palmer, Joe Cookston and Jimmy McDermett.
