Bio
Versie Cooley Huddleston Watkins, 92, of Glasgow passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born June 8, 1927, in Longville, La., she was a daughter of the late Burl Jefferson Cooley and Lavinia Young Cooley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee V. Huddleston, and her second husband, John Harvey Watkins Jr.; a son, Verne Huddleston; and a host of brothers and sisters. Versie loved her family, friends, the Maury River Senior Center in Buena Vista, and her church, Faith Baptist Church in Arnolds Valley. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, at Glasgow Cemetery by the Rev. Terry Bostic. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
