Bio

Linda Coleman White, age 76, of Lake Lure, NC passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. She was born February 27,1940 in McKinney, TX, daughter of the late Glenn and Janelle Coleman. Linda retired from Lexington School District One, Lexington, SC in 2001. She was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Lake Lure Art Club. She also volunteered at Mountain Branch Library and Ruth Hospice House. Linda loved life, her family, friends and community. She enjoyed traveling, taking art classes, and reading. She was a patient listener, gentle counselor and willing helper. Linda courageously battled an aggressive cancer over several years. Many thanks to all who visited, called and sent prayers and words of encouragement during her illness. A very special thank you is extended to the staff at Hope Lodge, NYC (American Cancer Society). Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Aaron White, of Lake Lure; sons Gregory White (Susan) of Gilbert, SC and Gavin White (Lindsay) of Simpsonville, SC and three grandchildren; Andrew Duke of Gilbert, SC, Coleman and Reagan White of Simpsonville, SC and her brother, Glenn Coleman, Jr. (Helen) of McKinney, TX. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9th, 2016 at The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Highway 64, Bat Cave, NC, 28710. A reception will follow the service.
