Bio

Janelle Bush Coleman, age 101, of McKinney, Texas, passed away April 9, 2014, in McKinney. Janelle was born at her home at the corner of College Street and Virginia Street in McKinney, on June 27, 1912. Her parents were Walter H. and Elizabeth May (Holloway) Bush. She married Glenn W. Coleman on June 16, 1935, in McKinney. Janelle lived in McKinney all of her life. She graduated from Texas Christian University in 1935 and went on to teach English at McKinney High School, retiring in 1959. Glenn and Janelle briefly lived in Denton, Texarkana, and Dallas. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of McKinney. She is survived by one daughter, one son, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Joyce Benton, and brother, Holloway Bush. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment followed at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family received friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church of McKinney.
