Bio

Betty Jane Rogers, of Forney, passed away November 21, 2019. Betty was born December 17, 1944 in Clarksville, Texas to George and Mary Robison, both of whom preceded her in death along with her siblings: Richard Robison, Leonard Robison and Wanda Byrd. Betty was raised in Avery and moved to Dallas. She married Doyce Rogers and moved to Forney in 1984. She worked for Forney ISD in the school cafeteria and retired after many years of loyal service to the campuses and students. Betty loved staying active and, after retirement, she began serving as a monitor on the school buses to stay close to the students that she loved so much. She was a longtime member of First Baptist and Fellowship in Forney and Betty loved her friendships that she made there. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and shopping for clothes. Coming from a big family, she treasured each moment she was able to spend with them. A lovely soul with a beautiful smile, Betty will be missed by all who knew her. Betty is survived by her son (and wife); son (and wife); great grandchildren, as well the anticipated birth of another great grandchild; siblings; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends who loved her dearly. Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Forney with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, Nov. 25, at the Chapel of First Baptist Church in Forney. (obit provided by Find A Grave contributor, Joey57, via email on 11/12/2022)
